Senior Citizen Support Groups
The senior citizen support groups meet monthly. These groups are intended to provide senior citizens with a place to socialize, network, and receive information and resources on topics related to, but not limited to, Emergency Food Programs, employment, general counseling, Home maker assistance and education.
This program also allows a place for senior citizens to join together an participate in recreational activities such as lunches, recreational internet use, and craft activities.
Women's Support Groups
The women's support groups take place on Fridays from 1:00- 3:00 pm. These groups are intended to provide women a place to socialize, network, and receive information and resources on topics related to, but not limited to, domestic violence, employment, family issues, and education.
This program also allows a place for women to join together and participate in craft activities, such as sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, drawing, quilting, and jewelry- making.
The women who participate in this activity will have access to weekly craft sessions on Fridays, monthly educational workshops, and weekly support and counseling sessions. The organization anticipates having 5-15 women enrolled in the support groups. When guest speakers are required to attend the workshops, they will invite appropriate individuals with expertise in the subject matter. At times, Natalie Abdullah may speak, as well. All speakers will act as volunteers and will not be charged for their services.
